Welcome!

About Me E-mail
Have you heard the one about the homeschooling family that lives on less than $22K a year in an area that costs above 100% (116%) of the National CoL Index?

I haven't quite figured out why so many people still persist in perpetuating the myth that living on a single income and homeschooling on a dime aren't possible. I can only suppose these are people who can't imagine life without a daily trip to Starbucks and dinner out several times a week. The people who actually shop at malls (*shudder*) and think "Brand Name = Best". The people who really live by the "Keeping up with the Joneses" mentality.

That? Would not be us!

Welcome to our world. We cook from scratch. Buy from thrift stores. Find 95% of our homeschool materials for free. This is my blog and this is how we do it.

Jennifer,

I can't get the email link to work with my mac, so I'll ask here. Feel free to delete this comment if necessary.

I read your 'about me' comments, and I know that you only enjoy bargains/freebies if they're legal.

These are links to good stuff, but are they in the public domain? Or just for Florida residents? Or some other specialized group?

Some of the files looked like they're from textbook publilshers. For example {http://www.sfreading.com/resources/pdf/ghbg6_010.pdf } Are we allowed to use their materials? Are they for general use hoping to get us hooked into buying their books?

Please ease our conscience, if possible.

No worries! These files and links are all free (legally) to use. Some of them - such as the spelling worksheets - are designed to be used in conjunction with another program or book, but you do not HAVE to have that book.

While the "PASS" books were originally created for students in the Leon County (FL) PS system, they are available now for anyone to use.

My only real concern, as I said on the main page, is that sites can - and often do - change and move around, so I do recommend you download and save as much as you can of anything you plan to use.

Thanks so much!

Now I'm really glad we replaced our printer cartridge last week.
